I guess I’ve reached the age where weddings are actually a thing. Not sure if I’m happy or worried about it, but as long as there’s food and bubbles, I guess I can roll with it for a few more years.
M and C tied knots a few weeks back. The lovely couple threw an intimate reception at the charming Auberge des Gallant that served amazeball food. To those of you whose dream venue is booked for the next century, I urge you to take a look at Auberge des Gallant. The site is about an hour and a half north of Montreal, rustic and run by a stellar staff.
The party started with sangria for all and endless nibbles and mezze platers. Special mention goes to the fresh salmon tartar that, enhanced with a touch of sesame oil, was d.i.v.i.n.e. They even had a special tray for our celiac friend – which all of us dug into (because letting her eat alone would have been impolite) ;).
The dinner hall was dreamy, hosting about 120 guests sitting and smiling among glittering golden plates.
But we didn’t just smile and stare at each other. In good festive spirit, we chatted and rang the kissing bell until the feast started. Sumptuous vegetable cream soon landed on our tables. Lovely goat cheese tomato tartlet, and pork mignonette with maple pepper sauce (or salmon fillet with tarragon for the non carnivorous) soon followed.
We danced until we dropped and eventually headed back to the city in the darkness of the night.
Thanks again M and C for the lovely celebrations and congratulations on the exciting road ahead! May all your future parties be as grand and delicious as this one :).
