[Italian: Enoteca Mozza Pizzeria Moderna] very large plates.

We’ve all been through it.

The agony of wondering whether asking for a doggy bag is appropriate.

So when the staff actually offers to wrap up whatever’s left for you to enjoy tomorrow, you know they’re a keeper.

What place are we talking about?

Enoteca Mozza, the new pizzeria on McGill College.

Remember the days when you couldn’t wait to bring the entire family to Paccini or Red Lobster because of their quintessential fun/unpretentious atmosphere that only the ‘90s knew how to produce?

Well here is some good news for you: Enoteca Mozza has created that atmosphere’s version 2.0.

mtl food snob Enoteca Mozza Pizzeria 11We clearly weren’t the only ones enjoying the great atmosphere. From parents holding their newborn child, to teens refuelling after a shopping spree, Enatoca Mozza managed to pack something for everyone looking to unwind a little into one location.

The ambiance is loud, the seating spacious and the food… triple the normal serving at any other restaurant.mtl food snob Enoteca Mozza Pizzeria 1I remember thinking “geez – these tables are large…” as I walked into the establishment – well it didn’t take long to realize it was because their pizzas take up about a third of the furniture’s surface.

But first things first: the appetizers. mtl food snob Enoteca Mozza Pizzeria 13Prosciutto & parmigiano with a spoonful of fig pepper jam.

Steaming as it landed on our table, the fish was juicy and incredibly tender. Greatness comes at a price, however: $28 for the fish vs. $15 for the pizza ($24 for the large one, which could feed two starving wrestlers or three normal human beings).

Doggy bags are also welcome. 😉
